Biggest Largemouth Bass was 8 pounds on Okeechobee
Hello, This is Captain Robert Miley. I’m just now leaving Lake Okeechobee what an awesome day with John and Carolyn Wilder…we got about 25 Bass with nothing under 4 pounds…our biggest Largemouth Bass was 8 pounds. They had an awesome day!
They lost some really big fish and one of the big ones jerked the rod plum out of the John’s hands! The rod went sailing out into the Lake and I had to use a snatch hook to get my fishing rod back. They’re coming down to go to watch the NASCAR race at the track in Homestead-Miami Speedway. So this gave them time to fit in an awesome day of fishing!
There from Michigan, they own a parts dealership and work in construction. The weather was little Windy and overcast this morning and if the fishing was pretty good in the morning…as long as it was overcast the fish were biting when the sun came out it seemed like they shut down and a big mud fish moved in. So I left at spot and we came back to another spot on the Lake were we got probably 6 more in the 4 to 5 pound range. Another awesome day on Lake Okeechobee!

The very first trip out he caught a 10lb 0/8 o/z largemouth bass, and has been fishing for bass ever since. Robert Miley has been fishing professionally on the B.A.S.S. Eastern Division, for the past 7 years. He also is the Bass Pro Shops Pro Staff representative for South Florida.
