Vernon Holmes 8-7-14

Hey this is Captain Dave Lauer calling in.., today’s August 7th. Weather was sunny and hot, and hardly a breeze out of Lake Okeechobee today.

I had Vernon Homes in his son Tray is gonna be a future basketball star probably at Ohio State. I was trying to talk him in the Notre Dame, but he’s pretty set on Ohio. But anyway, we start out the day fishing the Kissimmee grass throwing , swim-baits, spinner baits, buzz-baits and chatter-baits. We probably had in the neighbor hood of 25 bites in the first hour and boating probably about 10 of those fish, maybe 12. Missing many fish, the water was dingy and the fish were blowing up and biting good but just wasn’t getting the bait a lot of times.

Then as the sun came up and the wind died down the bite got slow. We were able to poke a few more pitching jigs into the Kissimmee grass and then we went into the rim canal and finished off with a few more.

That’s it from Captain Dave, tight-lines….will talk to you later.
